Dear guests,

We look forward to welcoming you to our listed vacation home in Bell, in the immediate vicinity of Lake Laach.

The house was built in 1686. We acquired it in 2021 and since then it has been completely renovated and furnished to a high standard until October 2023.

Numerous hiking trails and dream paths are accessible from here, allowing you to explore the beauty of this region.

After the many possible activities in our beautiful Eastern Eifel, our cottage invites you to relax and unwind.

The house

 "RawertsRefugium" is a beautiful gem located in Bell, just a few kilometers from Lake Laach. The historic house was built in 1686 and was initially run as a nunnery.

Living room / reading corner

Our chic upholstered sofa corner is located on the open ground floor. It is the heart of the house. Here you can end the day in comfort.

Of course, our living room is equipped with a television.

Right next to it is a reading corner with a view of our fully automatic wood-burning stove. 

Kitchen

In our fully equipped modern open kitchen you will find everything your heart desires. We will only mention the most important things here.

Dishwasher, fully automatic coffee machine, dishes, pots, glasses, bowls, tea towels, cooking utensils, etc. 

Bedroom

Our listed vacation home has 2 bedrooms.

The "Green Room" has a double bed measuring 180x200cm, with single mattresses, open closet and TV. A baby crib can be added in this room.

The "Orange Room" has a double bed 160x200cm, with single mattresses, open closet, TV.

The beds are made upon your arrival. Please let us know in advance if you would like to use both bedrooms for 2 people.

Own parking lot

Our cottage offers a parking lot directly at the house. There is a public parking lot 50 meters away. You can park there free of charge.

Terrace

On our fully fenced terrace, directly in front of the house, there is a permanently installed seating area.

Location

The East Eifel vacation region with its castles, wine villages and idyllic valleys stretches between the Ahr, Moselle and Rhine rivers. Lake Laach is the volcanic heritage of this region. Together with the Maria Laach monastery, it forms the heart of the region.

The town of Mendig is located 2 km from Bell. Here you will find unique underground lava cellars with the associated volcano museum "Lavadom".

Activities

The region around "RawertsRefugium" invites you to enjoy a wide range of activities: Extensive hikes through the varied natural landscape, cycling tours by e-bike or a detour to the Rhine/Moselle metropolis of Koblenz are no problem from here. The surrounding towns of Mendig and Mayen as well as the Benedictine abbey of Maria Laach offer a varied cultural program.

Family hiking in the Walt

From "RawertsRefugium" you can reach many of the volcano park 's stations in a short time by bike or car. Here you can experience the eventful past of Germany's most active volcanic region up close.

Lake Laach with Maria Laach Monastery

The highlight in the immediate vicinity of your vacation home is certainly Lake Laach: completely isolated from the surrounding area by the crater walls, you will find peace and relaxation here in the nature reserve and in the adjacent Benedictine abbey.

Around the lake there are hiking trails of varying degrees of difficulty and many opportunities to stop for a bite to eat. In many places along the lakeshore, you can experience at first hand that the Eifel is still an active volcanic region.

The Maria Laach Monastery offers plenty of space for prayer and meditation as well as a wide range of arts and crafts and culinary delights.

    Conditions & Cancellation

    Please note the following when booking:

    • the minimum length of stay is 3 nights
    • Children up to the age of 3 stay free of charge
    • There is a charge for bringing a dog (€40 per stay)
    • A deposit of 50% of the total amount must be paid at the time of booking, the remaining amount is due at least 14 days before arrival. If you book 14 days or less before your arrival date, the total amount is due immediately.
    • cash payment of the amount on site is not possible
    • we do not charge a deposit
    • The house rules apply for the duration of your stay

    You can cancel your booking free of charge up to 30 days before the date of arrival. If you cancel up to 14 days before arrival, 50% of the accommodation price is due, after that the full accommodation price must be paid.
